AGATHA RUIZ OF THE PRADA, DAUGHTER OF POP
There has appeared in Madrid and Barcelona the book “Agatha Ruiz de la Prada“, written by the journalist Dolors Massot, acts at which the proper designer was present. It is a question of the first one of the works that constitute a new collection on “Culture and Fashion”, of the publishing house EUNSA.
The first presentation of the book was in the Museum of the Suit of Madrid, supported by the journalist Luis Mª Ansón. Agatha came with a red garment with a big silver half moon and admitted that he has not read the book because it is to him difficult turn to herself across the eyes of another person. Massot, which covered the fashionable topics in the newspaper ABC during the Ansón stage, remembered that he accepted the EUNSA proposal without blinking and how Agatha Ruiz de la Prada facilitated his work to him at all times, inviting her, even, to happen with her a few days in his farm.
The second presentation took place in the auditorium of Caixa Forum of Barcelona, crammed with public, where the designer has exhibited one day. The presentation ran in charge of the teacher of the IESE, Pedro Nueno, with whom a big friendship joins him.
The work of Dolors Massot, in addition to revealing biographical episodes on which the creator had never declared herself, contributes a wide study on his life and his work beyond the world of the fashion: his aristocratic origins, his struggle for the marchioness's title of Castelldosrius and his relation with the power, his love for the color and the volume, his relation with Pop Art, the Abstract Expressionism and the Surrealism. She confesses herself: "When I was in Paris and saw the exhibition “They années Pop” in the Pompidou, I said to myself “I am the daughter of Pop” and during an epoch he was saying “Pop, I am pop”.
As reports Dolors Massot in his book, at present Agatha has already spent these stages and today he feels with proper personality. But although he likes more the abstract thing that the figurative thing, his designs are not understood without the Schiaparelli fuchsia, “the lip of the surrealists, and the heart”.
Massot remembers in his book the difficulties of the beginning and his first parade in the years of the Action of Madrid, somewhere near 1981. But if a milestone exists in the evolution of the mark Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, it has been his spectacular growth between 2000 and 2008. As she recognizes herself, the incorporation of Fernando Aguirre like general manager of the company has marked one earlier and one later. FRANCE, INVITED COUNTRY OF THE FAIR SIMM
France is the country invited for the edition nº 62 of SIMM – International Lounge of the Fashion of Madrid - that will be celebrated of February 12 next to February 14. In this edition of SIMM, which will present the collections for the next autumn - winter 09, there is foreseen the participation of 500 companies and more than thousand national and foreign fashionable marks between which we emphasize the comeback of important signatures like Kina Fernandez and Carmela Rosso. Both the stands and the parades will announce the innovations of the next period to us.
This authentic shop window of tendencies of the commercial fashion that is celebrated in IFEMA is considered to be the second one more important than Europe. This next edition will occupy 25.000 clear square meters distributed between the pavilions 1,3,5 and 7 of the Fair of Madrid forming the only monographic Fashion space in Spain where in the same enclosure the different Fashion styles will meet that six months later they will be present in the shops multimarks of the whole world.
The innovations and proposals of the present marks will be arranged concerning the sectors Gala, Pearls, Eternal, Soul, Iberpiel-Peletería, Accessories and Services to the point of sale that will receive those of Man and Woman, from avant-garde designs, up to creations of holiday, complements, urban fashion, you become close, grounds and furrier's.
CHUS BURES PRESENTS HIS UNITED BRACELET
In the assembly room of the Association of the Press of Madrid the designer Chus Burés presented his “united bracelet” for the help and cooperation in the water resources in Africa. This way the designer demonstrates that it is possible to link the design with the social responsibility. Burés has created a bracelet realized in cotton and sterling silver, which turns into united object to collect funds destined for different ONGs with development projects that will make the accessibility of the water possible in the African continent.
“This action - Chus Burés has declared - it leads us to understanding the design of a different way. My collaboration with developing countries is not new, especially with Tahilandia, to which I feel much especially linked. But in this case to the concepts of viability and rigor there re-is added a clear intention of giving to the activity of the design a draft in the conventional concept of the same one. Now the design in all his areas is also a solidarity and moreover it is a social conscience in action” -
During the act there happened a series of information that give idea of the opportunity of this project and of the urgent need of which the world of the fashion cannot be foreign. In the world there exist 1.100 million persons who do not have access to the drinking water, more than 2.400 millions do not have sanitation systems and every four seconds a child dies for the problem of water absence.
PHOTOS OF HIGH FASHION
The exhibition “VOGUE ROCKS” is a collection recopilatoria of photos published in the editions of the magazine Vogue of the whole world, from the 20s until our days. They are exhibited at present in the Museum of the Suit of Madrid until the next February 1.
The sample consists of a selection of 38 photos of jewels of legendary marks like Boucheron, Chanel, Cartier, There go Cleef and Arpels interpreted by the best photographers of the fashionable world like Cecil Beaton, Jean Loup Sieff, Terry Richardson, Steven Meisel, Irving Penn and Edward Steichen, in addition to the magnificent inspiration of Helmut Newton.
Exception models pose opposite to his cameras and show these wonderful pieces of the high jewelry shop, like Charlotte Rampling, Uma Thurman, Patti Smith, Maria Félix, Mónica Belluci and our international model Laura Ponte, although also manikins and toys have been used.
