WHICH IS THE SECRET OF THE ELEGANCE?
For: Marinella Calzona
The elegance feeds on the interior patrimony of the person, of the aptitude to contemplate the beautiful thing with all the emotions that this produces, but also of the rationality that allows a critical evaluation and a consistent search. The elegant person is not that that dresses himself according to an established classicism, but that one that makes the innovation, also fashionable his, with a balance that does not make her "be fashionable" but be absolutely modern and severely elegantly.
The elegance is nourished of the beauty. It is the aptitude to choose the esthetic thing if the same. It is the will of those objects that are involved more straight in the proper vital sphere: the house, the decoration, the garment that takes. To become elegant it is a necessary knowledge to recognize what is beautiful, to be esthetically glad; it is an innate quality that allows to perceive the beauty, but also it is an acquisition of the spirit.
Beautiful thing as such is not appreciated, at first sight, unless one is very politely. Only the observation, the listening and the long and silent reading allow the immediate emotions to take consistency and to turn into expressions of esthetic judgment. It is therefore in a museum, or while one listens to a concert, there is silence what facilitates the interior silence of that the perception of the beauty is born. It is in the proper interiority where there is forged the esthetic taste, the capacity of appreciation as a personal code and consequently the election.
With big admiration, I have listened to affirm an expert who in the field of the publicity is placing increasingly the anthropological consideration of the complexity of the human being. I say “with admiration” because these opinions, so current, belong nevertheless to the patrimony of the classic anthropology. My speaker was describing this complexity as a house with two stays: the stay of the emotion and the stay of the reason. The perception of the beautiful thing is not only an emotion, it is also a reasonable judgment, critical evaluation of what is perceived and of what is chosen. Therefore the elegance feeds on the interior patrimony of the person, of the aptitude to contemplate the beautiful thing and of the emotion that it causes and also of the rationality that allows a critical evaluation and a consistent election repecto the contemplated object.
The elegance in dressing is, therefore, an expression of a personality capable of inserting the innovation in something that was already possessed: an esthetic patrimony. It is like that as he allows to judge and choose the innovation that could underline and enrich the proper personality without yielding to the extravagance or to the spontaneity without measurement and without style. The elegant person is not the one that dresses according to an established classicism, but that one that makes the innovation, also fashionable his, with balance and good taste. An image completely to the fashion and ostentatiously of signature, it is never elegant.
